SCUBA Training, Equipment Repair and Service

Services - Almost Anything You Need

Tank Hydro

Federal Law requires a new hydrostatic test every five years for most SCUBA tanks. AHS will provide this service for $55 per tank and it includes the test, a visual inspection, and an air fill. Hydro with a Nitrox fill is $62. Please note that additional charges may apply if the valve requires cleaning or rebuild.

O2 Cleaning / Nitrox Ready

All regulators will leave from being serviced ready for Nitrox. If you want your cylinder to be "O2 cleaned", it will require at least a clean out tumble and most likely a valve rebuild. These are things to consider prior to dropping your tanks off. If we see a problem, we will certainly let you know.

AHS typically uses partial pressure filling for Nitrox, which does require equipment to be O2 Ready. AHS recommends having your equipment O2 cleaned prior to any use of oxygen for safety.

Doubles

  • Manifold Break Down and Rebuild - $40

  • Doubles Breakdown and Reassembly - $25 per set

Valve Rebuild

Valves are often times neglected by the owners. However, AHS will rebuild and deep clean your valve for $25. Remember if any hardware needs to be replaced, there will be an additional charge. Manifold rebuild and cleaning is $40.

OTS Full Face Mask

Ocean Technology Systems provides the best and most cost effective full face mask / communications systems on the market today. Pricing for servicing these masks are flat fees including parts, labor, and communication system testing.

  • Guardian - $225

  • AGA - $325

Tank Fills

  1. Air - $7 Per Tank (Flat Fee)

  2. Nitrox - $12 Per Tank (Flat Fee)

  3. O2 - $0.60 per ft

Tank Tumble

Tank tumbling is performed here in house. AHS charges anywhere from $20 to $60 depending on the type of tumble needed. If your cylinder is filled with rust and you want it filled with oxygen, it will likely be $40. A Blue Gold clean out is only $10.

General Regulator Service

Regulators come in all shapes and sizes. AHS can service almost any brand currently sold. General pricing is $40 per stage in labor plus the cost of the service kit. In General, a first stage service kit is $30 - $40 and a second stage kit is $20 - $30.

*Sealed, Atomic first stages will incur an additional $30 cost due to the resealing requirement.

Tank Visual Inspections

Visual Inspections are a best safety practice within the SCUBA community. We charge $25 per tank to perform this inspection. Please note that this does not include any valve work or O2 cleaning services.

Online Training

There is almost no certification course that AHS cannot teach in some way. SDI / TDI / ERDI has provided an online training platform to simplify the entire process and help avoid the modern day student from spending days in a classroom. AHS charges a flat fee of $80 for the majority of online codes available. If the code is purchased directly through TDISDI.COM, you will then only need to pay for your required training days. Please note that online access codes purchased directly from SDI / TDI / ERDI may be more, or less, expensive. This will not impact the cost of the training days required. See videos below for detailed instructions on how to sign up for, or activate, your code.

If you would like to purchase a code from us, please send us an email using the Contact Us page explaining which course you would like to sign up for. We will send you an invoice from there which you can pay online.

Pay Per Session

AHS has incorporated a pay per session model for core training because it simplifies the entire process, and allows for customers to break payments up as time goes by. AHS charges $120 per student for a training session. What constitutes a session? This time is usually around 3 to 5 hours, but sometimes longer or shorter depending on the course and the goal of the day. Different courses require a different amount of "minimum training sessions".

Minimum Sessions

Some individuals learn faster than others. This is a fact of life that we have all encountered. Some individuals are just naturals at certain types of activities. SCUBA diving is no different. At AHS, we keep classes small and mostly private. We believe that this is the best way for a student to learn. This way, your training time is lessened by the fact that you are no longer just "waiting for your turn" to perform a skill. We have encountered numerous clients who felt as though they did not receive the attention they needed during their courses in the past with others, and we aim to help solve that problem.

Example: SDI Open Water SCUBA Diver - 4 Session Minimum

  1. Purchase the SDI Online Open Water Access Code from AHS ($80)

  2. Paperwork, Knowledge Review, Gear Assembly / Disassembly at Air Hogs SCUBA ($120)

  3. Pool ($120) - Smithfield Aquatic Center

  4. Open Water Session 1 ($120) - Fantasy Lake SCUBA Park (entry fee of $20 per diver, cash only, not included)

  5. Open Water Session 2 ($120) - Fantasy Lake SCUBA Park (entry fee of $20 per diver, cash only, not included)
